We dated for 7 yrs and broke up 8 months ago. The relationship was great but the break was bad. He broke up with me w/o an explanation and wouldn’t answer phone calls or any other means of contact. He kind of treated me like a one night stand that he hoped would get the hint and go away.

He called me in May for the first time, to see how i was and to re-establish the lines of communication. He now called me last week saying that he has been away on business (he does that a lot) and hes around for the next week or two and wants to meet up. I didn’t give him an answer. He called back three days later trying to make plans for this Thursday (today).

He claims to miss me and my friends family. He heard that i was hesitant about meeting him and he said that he misses me , we weren’t only bf/gf i was also his best friend and he wants to just hang out and have fun with me. And it is not a date or anything.

So my question is What does he want?? Friendship? and does he deserve that much after the way he treated me? Or is this his in to try and get back with me? And does he think its that easy?

I am utterly confused and do not know if i should go and meet up with him. He said to make it for next Thursday so that i have time to think it over and now i am suppose to let him know.

Has anyone been in a similar situation and how did it turn out?
